HEDIS Medical Record Review (MRR) Abstractor III

Location: Remote. Position will potentially make onsite visits to provider offices therefore MUST live IN or NEAR West Virginia.

Type: Contract (Full-Time, Project-Based)

Pay Rate: $43.32 per hour

Schedule: Mon-Fri 8a-5p

About the Role:

We’re seeking experienced HEDIS Medical Record Review (MRR) Abstractors to support clinical data collection and quality reporting initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong experience reviewing and abstracting medical records to ensure compliance with HEDIS and CMS performance measures.

You will interpret clinical criteria, annotate medical records via Adobe PDF, and enter data into collection tools to ensure complete, accurate, and compliant documentation. Key Responsibilities:

• Review and abstract medical records to collect clinical data for HEDIS quality reporting.
• Interpret clinical criteria and annotate medical charts using Adobe PDF tools.
• Enter accurate data into electronic data collection systems.
• Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA and confidentiality standards.
• Coordinate with provider offices to schedule or confirm medical record submissions.
• Identify trends or inconsistencies and document areas for improvement.
• Meet daily productivity and accuracy goals while maintaining high data quality.
• Participate in all required project training and team calls.

Qualifications:

• 4+ years of experience auditing and abstracting medical records (HEDIS experience strongly preferred).
• Strong medical knowledge and understanding of healthcare terminology.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe Reader, and databases .
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Must maintain confidentiality of PHI and adhere to HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules .
• Reliable internet connection and a private, professional workspace.
• Ability to commit to the full duration of the project.

Additional Requirements:

• Workspace must accommodate a laptop and dual monitors.
• Reliable transportation may be required for certain geographic assignments.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. (if applicable to field work).
• Business casual attire and professional demeanor required when interfacing with provider offices.
