Accountant Auditor Location: Rockville, MD Hybrid Schedule: 2 days onsite Duration: 12 Months w/ Option to Extend Salary: Negotiable Resumes to Criss Brient: cbrient@altaits.com Local County Government client is seeking a highly qualified Accountant/Auditor for the Internal Audit Team. Develop a timely and flexible annual audit plan using an appropriate risk-based methodology including any risks or control concerns identified by management and submit that plan as well as periodic updates to the Audit Committee for review and approval. Possess sufficient knowledge, skills, experience, and professional certifications to meet the requirements of the local county government client; issue periodic reports, at the very least on a quarterly basis to the appropriate management level summarizing results of audit activities; keep the Audit Team informed of emerging trends and successful practices in internal auditing. Follow through on the implementation of action plans committed by management to mitigate identified risks and address control lapses noted and must foster a strong internal control environment through education and training. Must consider the scope of work of the external auditors. Education/Certification: A Certified Public Accounting (CPA) license is preferred Without a CPA, a BS/BA degree in Accounting or similar degree is required Substantive experience in accounting/auditing. #M2
